Drink a pint of water before each meal can help you lose weight

This habit, incorporated into a healthy diet and exercise may help reduce levels of obesity.

Researchers at the University of Birmingham, UK, showed that drinking half a liter of water a half hour before meals, main, can help obese adults lose weight.

The study was published in the journal Obesity ', which mentions that this discovery can be very useful when making a diet. In research, we worked with obese adults who were followed for 12 weeks.


Each of the study subjects had to undergo weight checks, where they were given a guideline for them to have a better lifestyle, conform diet and increased physical activity.

Participants were divided into two groups, 41 of them were to drink water before meals, and 43 of them were advised imagine having a full stomach before eating. Those who drank water lost 1.3 kilos more than the control group.

Moreover, those who drank water before three main meals a day lost 4.3 kilos during the 12 weeks of the study, while those who only did so in a meal, or almost never, only lost an average of 0, 8 kilos ..

Participants must not consume water and gas liquids such as water, soda, and sugary soft drinks.

This study aims to make people aware about the importance of healthy habits and encourage weight loss, in order to reduce levels of obesity in the population.
